beaded cat washcloth

This is beaded knit project I made for a friend. It's based off the "kitty" washcloth.

Warez the Cat 1997-2007

Warez the Cat 1997-2007
Originally uploaded by WeavesWithFire

On Monday, our cat, Warez stopped eating. Yesterday he stopped trying
to eat, even tuna. He stopped grooming himself and became violently
ill a couple times. Afterwards he was just really lethargic and just
went to hide under the desk in the living room. Every time I would
check on him, he would purr incredibly loud for about 3 minutes and
then drift off to sleep.

Last night he collapsed in our bedroom. We tried to make him
comfortable, giving him his favorite blanket in the closet. I found
him at 3am in the living room, he was still breathing, but he wasn't
moving anymore. Ron gave him pets and he let out the most plaintive
mew I've ever heard.

This morning he was still breathing, but he was really out of it. He
no longer purred or made any kind of indication that he knew anyone
was around him. He kept trying to get up but then he would fall down
and just lay there, limbs askew. I could see in his eyes that his
kitty soul was getting ready to go.

We decided that it was time for Warez to go on to the next life.

Max and I went to the vet and had him put to sleep. Other than one
little mew when we got in the car, he never moved or made a sound.
When the vet gave him the injection, he breathed hard three times and
then stopped.

Goodbye Warez, you were a great companion and will be missed.

Ok, ok

Ok, so basically, the flickr program will upload one picture per post, if you send multiple pictures in a post, it will just duplicate the text. Still, pretty cool.

Ok, ok
Originally uploaded by WeavesWithFire

That's pretty awesome...so basically, I just send an e-mail to this
super special address and it automatically updates my blog. That's
fairly sweet. However, I wonder if I can then go and edit the
pictures and text within blogger. Let's see, shall we?

California Adventures - Day 3

day3
Originally uploaded by WeavesWithFire

Day three was probably the best part of the trip, I saw my friend Clare who I hadn't seen in 20+ years. She has the cutest little boy that Max just loved (right up until he grabbed Max's hair and wouldn't let go)

We met Clare in Fairfax, one of the Jewish districts of LA. Only here would you find kosher sushi

This is the Hand of Miriam that was above a doorway at the restaurant in Fairfax. It is also known as the hand of Fatima for Muslims although it's believed that the symbol is actually much older than either Judaism or Islam

20+ years, 2 religions and 2 babies spanned the last time we met, but she felt like my best friend again in minutes ;-)

California Adventures, Day 2

day2
Originally uploaded by WeavesWithFire

On December 1, 2007 we went to Knotts Berry Farm with my mom

Knotts has this little "ranger station" right next to the graveyard, so of course we had to go in. Since they they had just opened it, the "ranger" was feeding all the carnivorous animals. Mealworms...mmm

Knotts17
Originally uploaded by WeavesWithFire

I was so proud of Maxwell on this ride, he stood in line all by himself!

Knotts19
Originally uploaded by WeavesWithFire

Alas, the actual ride, not as exciting as standing in line.

I got Max a little duck stuffed animal...of course, he had to go out to the koi pond and show his mallard to a real mallard duck.
