OFF 2008

Edit: I am sad to say that Snowy was not a good fit for our family. However he found a new life on a rabbit farm in Forest Grove as a breeder rabbit so he's...you know, a stud bunny now.

Fate handed us a new pet today. Well...the Oregon Flock and Fiber and fate. And $15.00 for the cage. And $39 for the supplies....

Meet Snowy!

Max originally wanted to name him "Whitey" but I convinced him that Snowy might be better.

We also saw sheep and, of course, members of the Alpaca Cult. I bought a small amount of yarn, but really the bunny was the major purchase.

Max and I had an insanely busy weekend, we went the Chinese Classical Garden on Saturday with his Papa and Susie which turned out to be...well, not in the most fantastic part of town. The garden was lovely though and we made it up to them by taking them to Imbrie Hall for dinner.

Warez the Cat 1997-2007

Warez the Cat 1997-2007

On Monday, our cat, Warez stopped eating. Yesterday he stopped trying
to eat, even tuna. He stopped grooming himself and became violently
ill a couple times. Afterwards he was just really lethargic and just
went to hide under the desk in the living room. Every time I would
check on him, he would purr incredibly loud for about 3 minutes and
then drift off to sleep.

Last night he collapsed in our bedroom. We tried to make him
comfortable, giving him his favorite blanket in the closet. I found
him at 3am in the living room, he was still breathing, but he wasn't
moving anymore. Ron gave him pets and he let out the most plaintive
mew I've ever heard.

This morning he was still breathing, but he was really out of it. He
no longer purred or made any kind of indication that he knew anyone
was around him. He kept trying to get up but then he would fall down
and just lay there, limbs askew. I could see in his eyes that his
kitty soul was getting ready to go.

We decided that it was time for Warez to go on to the next life.

Max and I went to the vet and had him put to sleep. Other than one
little mew when we got in the car, he never moved or made a sound.
When the vet gave him the injection, he breathed hard three times and
then stopped.

Goodbye Warez, you were a great companion and will be missed.
